Level 6 Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management Outline Structure
 
The Level 6 Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management is a level 6 vocational qualification within the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) and has been developed with reference to the national occupational standards developed by People 1st the Sector Skills Council for the Hospitality and Tourism Industry.
 
The qualification is designed at 410 credits in the QCF credits and developed to adhere to the level 6 descriptors as developed by Ofqual. The QCF states that one credit represents ten hours of notional learning hours.
 
The CTH Level 6 Diploma normally requires a programme of study that has been designed to include a minimum of 1936 Guided Learning Hours. Guided Learning Hours, include, but are not limited to, formal teaching/lectures, tutorials, guided research, guided revision and assessment; GLH for each unit is shown on the individual unit specification. However, it should be noted that learners successfully completing a level 6 qualification should be able to demonstrate their ability as independent learners.
