The Hospital Caterers Association (HCA) and the National Association of Care Catering (NACC) have worked collaboratively to create this bespoke qualification, accredited by Ofqual, for catering teams working in health and social care to ensure they have the knowledge and skills to cater for the complex diets they are faced with on a day-to-day basis.
This course aims to expand on already existing culinary skills to enhance knowledge around the importance of good nutrition and hydration, how to cater for complex therapeutic diets, dysphagia and texture modified (IDDSI) meals.
This qualification is suitable for:
All catering staff beginning their career pathway in public kitchens, including catering assistants, catering supervisors, cooks, assistant catering managers, food service assistants and kitchen assistants.
The only Ofqual regulated qualification that supports the IDDSI framework and special diets’.
