UK Funding for Training
CTH Courses are Eligible for UK Government Funding
Government funding or support is available for many CTH programmes delivered by organisations in England that are approved for funding by the Department for Education and/or Education & Skills Funding Agency (ESFA). This is possible as CTH is an awarding organisation recognised and regulated by Ofqual. CTH specialises in the travel, tourism, hospitality and culinary sectors, offering qualifications from Level 2 up to Level 7.
Funding falls under various categories; please check the Learning Aims database (Hub) for more details of funded courses by entering CTH in the 'Awarding Organisation Code' box.
Funding is in place or has been requested for all CTH qualifications under the relevant category, such as the Adult Education Budget including local flexibility funding Section 96 (for 16 to 19 year olds) and Advanced Learner Loans (for 19+ year olds on Level 3 to Level 6 qualifications).
Local flexibility funding for all CTH qualifications up to and including Level 2 (excluding CTH Level 2 Award in the Sabre System, which is vendor specific) allows providers with AEB allocations the opportunity to deliver these as complete qualifications or as standalone component units. Funding may also be available via Community Learning contracts with Local Authorities and others, or as other non-regulated provision.
The Education & Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) have recently also announced that for the 2018/19 Academic year students on a low wage (up to £15,736.50 per annum or £8.07 per hour) who were previously expected to co-fund their courses may now be fully funded from a provider’s Adult Education Budget allocation (see AEB funding rules 2018-19 paragraphs 151-153). This will enable providers the option to use their AEB budget to recruit students on to CTH qualifications up to Level 2 on a fully funded basis using local flexibility, regardless of employment status or age provided they fall within the low earners criteria.
Please contact CTH for details of funding availability for specific qualifications you may be interested in offering.

Apprenticeships – New Apprenticeship Standards
Published Standards: Our current qualifications provide a cost effective way to address many of the skills and knowledge requirements for the apprenticeship standards already approved for the hospitality and culinary sectors (see diagram below). CTH would be interested to hear from providers or employers wishing to use these as part of their apprenticeship solutions.

Developing additional Apprenticeship Standards: CTH is actively engaged in dialogue with employers, colleges, universities and training providers, to explore the demand for additional higher level and degree apprenticeship standards. CTH is the only specialist awarding organisation working in these sectors with experience of developing qualifications up to Level 7, and is willing to help establish or join Trailblazer groups of interested employers and others to share our expertise.
Assessors and End Point Assessment: CTH plans to apply to become an approved End Point Assessor organisation, and would love to hear from suitably qualified individuals interested in working with us as assessors throughout England.
Contact CTH: To get in touch regarding any aspect of the new Apprenticeship Standards, please email: [email protected].
