We're thrilled to launch the new CTH External Endorsement initiative, aimed at endorsing and elevating hospitality employer training across the industry.

CTH External Endorsement
Hospitality and tourism are fantastic industries, full of opportunities and prospects for ambitious employers and talented individuals. However, to some, these industries are still seen as a stop gap. According to research from CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development), hospitality has the highest employee turnover in the UK - and it's a similar case in many parts of the world.
At CTH, we understand the importance of these vital industries; after all, as an awarding organisation, we specialise solely in developing qualifications for the hospitality and tourism sectors. That expertise puts us in a unique position to offer valuable external endorsement of staff training programmes provided by employers.
Over the years, we’ve collaborated with leading employers such as IHG Hotels & Resorts, to successfully develop their staff training programmes and to provide external recognition of employees taking the next step in their professional development.
Five reasons to implement CTH External Endorsement in your staff training programmes
1. Improving staff retention and attracting talent
Employers that offer recognised learning and development pathways and externally-endorsed training programmes are much more likely to retain and attract the best hospitality talent globally. It shows that you value their individual development and unique personalities. An endorsement and certification from CTH will show that staff and customers can trust the quality, safety and professionalism of your training programmes.
2. International recognition and credibility
The Confederation of Tourism & Hospitality (CTH) is a specialised awarding organisation with over 40 years of heritage and a global reputation for quality. With our independent endorsement, we will ensure that your training meets recognised industry standards, making it stand out for its quality and credibility, giving you a competitive edge.
3. Flexibility to fit with operational demands
CTH external endorsement can be designed to meet specific sector or employers operational requirements, making them highly relevant and immediately applicable to real-world job roles. Unlike regulated qualifications, these programmes allow providers more freedom to customise content while still benefiting from external endorsement.
4. In good company
By achieving a CTH endorsed certificate, learners are instantly in great company. Around the world, many thousands of working students and professionals at all stages of their careers proudly enhance their skills through CTH-endorsed programmes. Getting their ‘CTH’ makes them a member of a worldwide network of hospitality and tourism excellence.
5. Guidance and support
Our expert endorsement team is with you all the way. Whether you need advice on your training programme suitability or have questions during the process, CTH provide ongoing guidance and support to make your journey as smooth as possible.
The 'Gold Standard' endorsement option
'CTH Endorsement' is not a badge that is easily awarded. We believe that if an external endorsement is to carry value it must only be granted where the training content and outcomes are demonstrably beneficial to the learner. We therefore apply strict rules regarding the organisations that we will consider for CTH Endorsement. The scheme’s scope is limited to high-quality staff training by leading sectoral employers, as well as to the limited endorsement of qualifications offered by recognised universities and government bodies.
In addition, CTH will never endorse training where it has not been able to validate the success of each learner. We will only issue our endorsement when we have had the opportunity to see what each and every learner has achieved. These strict rules set us apart from most other endorsement options, ensuring that the ‘CTH Endorsed’ stamp carries valuable weight as a ‘Gold Standard’ endorsement to a learner’s training achievement record.
