CTH Regional Manager Kobus Thiart attends Baked Academy graduation 2024
Great news! In June, CTH Teaching Centre, Baked Academy, hosted its 2024 graduation ceremony. The ceremony honoured the latest chef graduates on achieving their CTH culinary qualification.
Baked Academy is a unique culinary school located in Benoni, South Africa. Specialising in bakery, the Academy offers a range of 2-week to 12-month courses, including the CTH Level 2 Diploma and Level 3 Diploma in Patisserie and Confectionery Skills. At the Academy, the priority is high-quality education - this is achieved through smaller cohort sizes that offer learners individual tuition in order to excel in each programme unit.
We have partnered with Baked Academy since 2022 and we are excited by the progress they have made in such a short time. New graduates have a promising future as they embark on their culinary journey in this vast industry. Graduates may pursue entrepreneurship by creating their own catering business; they may decide to work in a professional kitchens and seek international opportunities; the possibilities are endless.

It was such a memorable experience attending the graduation ceremony of Baked Academy. One thing that became clear quite early into the ceremony was the love, admiration, and excitement each student has for Baked Academy. I’ve always thought the expression “we’re a family” in the perspective of a teaching centre is quite a cliché, but I was swiftly brought back to earth and humbled by how they truly are one, big happy family.
