Here at CTH, we love to celebrate the achievements of our students. In this week's CTH News, we'd like to tell you about Amos Khosa, a student from our Approved Teaching Centre in South Africa.

For various reasons, Amos unfortunately didn’t always have a great childhood but that didn't stop him from pursuing his passions. Amos' love for running led him to enter a local running event in Mpumalanga; at the event, he received a lot of positive attention for running completely barefoot and ultimately winning the race. From there, he faced tough competition but has now been crowned the South African 800m Junior Champion!

Around the time Amos started to gain attention, he was also introduced to the CTH Teaching Centre, SAAAC in Hammanskraal. He has now successfully completed his CTH Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Hospitality & Tourism; however, the good news doesn't stop there - Monroe College in New Rochelle, New York are now discussing the possibility of offering Amos a full scholarship to continue his studies in the United States!

It goes to show that even if you are going through adversity, with enough hard work, positivity and determination, you can still achieve great things.

Charmain Lardner, Principal of SAAAC commented:

We are so proud of Amos, this is why we do what we do - it’s a privilege to help a student find their wings and succeed. After all, that is what an educator does.

Well done, Amos – please let us know how you get on in the Big Apple!
