Christmas came early for American Hotel Academy (AHA) in Brașov, Romania, as the institution officially joined the exclusive group of international centres awarded CTH Gold Centre status.

During a recent visit to AHA, CTH Marketing Director, Steve Beckworth, personally presented the certificate on campus, recognising AHA for its exceptional educational quality and operational excellence. While addressing students and faculty, Steve highlighted the academy’s strong commitment to student-centred learning and its distinctive approach to hospitality education in Romania.

At AHA, academic theory is seamlessly integrated with extensive real-world practice. Students benefit from an experienced team of lecturers, a hands-on learning model and mandatory internships each year — supported by a global network of hotel partners across Europe, the United States and the Middle East. This ensures graduates leave not only with a degree but with significant industry experience and global exposure.

AHA Academic Director, Ioana Turcas, expressed her pride in receiving the award, saying:

Receiving the CTH Gold Centre award means a lot for me personally, but it also means very much for the entire AHA team, because it symbolises your recognition of our efforts, implementation and dedication in providing the best education possible to all our students.

Gold Centre status is an invitation-only membership granted to CTH Centres that demonstrate outstanding academic delivery, excellent student outcomes, strong internal quality assurance and consistently high standards across teaching, assessment and administration.

As AHA and CTH look ahead to a new year, the award reaffirms a partnership built on shared values and a dedication to excellence in hospitality education. With new projects and opportunities on the horizon, both organisations are poised to support the next generation of hospitality professionals as they begin their global careers.
